          It is not my intention to make actors abandon these overdone pieces only to do other pieces that are terrible, or terrible choices for them.

          As noted below, most of the pieces are done a lot because they are great, or good, or at least catchy in some way. But mainly they are done a lot because they are the most popular ones in the monologue books.
